Before you can send a document for signature, an internal Editor must Configure signers to assign signature blocks in the Signers panel.

Note: Only the document creator or invited internal users with Editor access rights can add or assign signers with the ability to edit documents in their role.
Configuring signers from the Document Builder
When creating a new document using the Document Builder, you can optionally add details before the document is generated, including who will sign the document. You can also choose to Skip for Now and complete this information in the document.
- In the Document builder, select the + Signers button click on Add signer.
- Enter the name or email of the individual that will sign
- If the signer has yet to be specified you can select 'Any internal user', 'Any external guest' or 'Anyone'.
- If signatories should sign in a specific order, toggle on the Signing order option.
- Signatories can be modified at any time in the Signer panel.
Note: If you are creating a new document from a template that has signers configured, those signers will be carried over to the generated document and appear in the Document builder. You can modify those signers in the Document builder or in the document itself.
Configuring signatures in the document
- On the document page, open the Signers panel. This panel can be accessed from several locations, including:
- Click on the Signers button in the panel navigation along the right edge of the page:
- Select Configure signers from the Signature menu at the top of the document:
- Click on the Signers button in the panel navigation along the right edge of the page:

- If the Use pre-set signature block option is enabled, select Configure signers at the bottom of the document:
- From the Document Progress Card, if no signers have been configured:
Or, if one or more signers have already been configured, select Configure signers from the menu:
- If the Use pre-set signature block option is enabled, select Configure signers at the bottom of the document:
Adding signers
- In the Signers panel, click '+ Signer'.
- Enter the name or email address of the person signing (or scroll and select an internal user from the list).
- If you're not sure who needs to sign yet, you may select:
- Any external guest - this selection will allow any invited guest to sign here.
- Any internal user - this selection will allow any invited internal user (who is assigned a Role with permission to sign) to sign here.
- Anyone - any party can sign the document.
Changing Signers
- Signers that have not yet signed the document can be changed or removed at any time.
- In the Signers panel, click the down arrow beside the signer name/email.
- Select Change who signs here from the menu.
- Enter the name or email address of the correct signer (or scroll and select an internal user from the list). If you're not sure who needs to sign yet, you may select:

- Any external guest - this selection will allow any guest to sign here.
- Any internal user - this selection will allow any invited internal user (who is assigned a Role with permission to sign) to sign here.
- Anyone - any party can sign the document.

Removing Signers
- Signers that have not yet signed the document can be changed or removed at any time.
- In the Signers panel, click the down arrow beside the signer name/email.
- Click Remove signer.
Note: If the signer you wish to remove has fields assigned to them in the document, those fields wil need to be removed or reassigned before removal can be completed.
Signing order
If parties must sign in a specific order, enable Signing order.
Activate signing order

- In the Signers panel, expand open the Advanced settings section.
- Click the slider beside 'Signing order' (blue indicates it is activated)
- Numbers will appear beside each signer to reflect the signing order. Signers will only be able to sign once the signers ordered before them has signed the document.
Adjust the signing order

- Click and hold on the number beside the signer (when selected, the number will change to the
icon).
- Move your mouse up or down to "drag" the signer to the desired position.
- Release your mouse to "drop" the signer
- The numbers will adjust to reflect the new signing order.
- Repeat until signers are in their desired order.

Note: When signing order is enabled, 'Request signature' is disabled for the second and subsequent signers until the previous signer signs the document.
